LA Judge Dismisses Defamation Lawsuit by former AME pastor, Rev. John J. Hunter

Many of you who have been following the feuding story about the former pastor of First AME Church in LA at AT2W, here is the update. The defamation lawsuit he filed against certain church members has been dropped by the judge in the case. Allegedly Rev. John J. Hunter claimed he suffered emotional distress when removed as pastor, according to Black Christian News.

According to BlackChristianNews.com, First AME filed its own lawsuit against Hunter, who served as pastor for eight years, shortly after he was removed from the church. The lawsuit alleges embezzlement and misappropriation of church funds. That case is currently in litigation.

In the meantime, we will keep church members of First AME and Rev. John J. Hunter in our prayers.
