It's remarkable that many of the obituary stories about the late, great Patti Page didn't mention her seasonal home in New Hampshire.
It was in Bath, about an hour or so north of the Lakes Region, where Patti and her husband, Jerry Filiciotto, who passed away in 2009, spent their summers.
In an interview at their historic 1830s farmhouse several years ago, the singing star said that Jerry and his previous wife had planned to retire to the Granite State but the woman died before the move. Some time later, the widow met the famous singer and they later married.
Some obits also missed some significant marks in Patti's career.
The artist said she was the only woman singer to have hit songs in every decade since she began singing in the 1950s - including several popular country songs during the later half of her career. Her recoding of "The Tennessee Waltz" - her biggest hit - was the first song to ever "crossover" from the pop to country charts.
Page may have also been the first person to perform with herself when she dubbed her own backup singing for a 1947 song, "Confess." "(Guitarist) Les Paul won an award for (the process) but I did it first," she said.
Patti Page died on New Year's Day. She was 85 years old.
